Honourable Sir Julius Chan, GCL, GCMG, KBE, PC and Governor, New Ireland Province and Former Prime Minister Lady Stella Chan, Vanessa, Byron, Mark and Toea and your extended family Thank you for giving us the opportunity to pay our respects to this Great Leader of our country and our people.   Sir Julius as known to all of us, was a man amongst men. A leader of leaders and a statesman who dedicated his entire adult life contributing enormously to nation building.   As one of the founding fathers, Sir Julius served his country and people well. A service to his community and his stance on good governance are his public legacy. MP Kessy Sawang Leads the Way in Transparency and Accountability for Rai Coast Development District Authority

Breaking News: Hon. Kessy Sawang, MP, Pledges Unprecedented Transparency and Accountability

In a groundbreaking move, Hon. Kessy Sawang, Member of Parliament, has announced a bold initiative to enhance transparency and accountability within the Rai Coast Development District Authority (RCDDA). Under her visionary leadership, the RCDDA will voluntarily publish comprehensive Annual Reports, marking a significant step towards openness and public disclosure.

The Annual Reports will serve as a public document, shedding light on the financial landscape of the RCDDA. They will encompass detailed financial reports of funding received, the Board approved Budget, as well as the expenditures and progress of work in each sector. In a gesture of unwavering dedication to the people of Rai Coast, Hon. Kessy Sawang has expressed her determination to ensure that the reports reach every corner of the community. Copies of the Annual Reports will be distributed to every Council Ward, Schools, and other relevant institutions, ensuring that the information is readily available for the public's consumption.

"This is a pivotal moment for our community. We are setting a standard of accountability and transparency that no one will beat," Hon. Kessy Sawang declared. Her unwavering commitment to the people's welfare is evident in her pledge to deliver the services they deserve, emphasizing that progress will be made "slowly but surely."

As the draft report for 2022 and 2023 is unveiled, along with the inclusion of Financial Statements, Hon. Kessy Sawang's leadership is poised to usher in an era of unprecedented openness and accountability. 

This move is a testament to her unwavering dedication to the people of Rai Coast, ensuring that they receive the services they rightfully deserve.

BRIEF HISTORY OF SIR IGNATIUS KILAGE - THE FIRST PRIEST

Young men who went to school in the early times went on to become important people.   Kulkane man, Ignatius Kilage, was the first man from the highlands to be ordained a priest in 1968 and later he was to become one of the most distinguished statesmen in Papua New Guinea. As the day of his ordination approached, Ignatius especially chose the date December 17th 1968 in memory of the burial date of Father Karl Morschheuser.
