Ms Umba, a social works graduate from the University of Papua New Guinea, said her passion in the field of providing care for survivors of violence inspired her to take up the role and so far enjoys her time out on the road. “I graduated from the University of Papua New Guinea in 2018. I was working, case management of gender-based survivors and that is how I was motivated to run the taxi. At first, it is a man’s job and it is risky but I tried it for two weeks and thought it’s not that bad. So I decided to run for a month and saw that it is safe and profitable,” she said. YADIN, A Young Jew Came to PNG in Search for Peace - Now Admitted to the Bar to Practice Law Albert Moses A Jew who came to PNG in 2015 in search for peace has recently been admitted to the bar at Waigani Supreme and National Court to practice law in Papua New Guinea.  His admission took place on Tuesday, 31st January. “My intention for practising law in PNG is to contribute meaningfully towards peace & justice of this great nation,” Yadin added after his admission. Apart from Mr Yadin’s intention in searching for peace in PNG, he had applied to study law at UPNG and fortunately he got accepted and was enrolled at UPNG in 2018.
