Over fifty lives were tragically lost, and properties worth hundreds of millions of kinas were laid to waste as a result of relentless tribal conflict. This devastating event has not only caused irreparable damage to the community but has also raised urgent questions about the underlying causes and the necessary measures to prevent such occurrences in the future. The ongoing tribal fights in Wapenamanda have escalated beyond traditional conflict resolution mechanisms, indicating a deep-rooted issue that requires immediate and comprehensive intervention. Destinations Air Niugini Air Niugini is the official airline partner for the Papua New Guinea /Asia Investment conference to be held in Hong Kong on Monday October 15 to Tuesday the 16th. The airline will operate an additional Hong Kong service on Saturday October 13 to airlift delegates traveling for the conference.
