Criticism is the best teacher. It hurts your pride but builds your confidence. - Estapacifica

What is your advice to other young people who are criticized for trying to do something great for themselves? Criticism is the best teacher. It hurts your pride but builds your confidence. From my perspective there are two types of criticisms. There is the type that builds you and there is the other type that is just plain "noise."  I pay attention to the type of criticisms that will build me. I ignore that type that don't contribute to my growing which I like to consider as "noise." Noises are distractions and who likes noise when they are concentrating. THE ANGELIC VOICE BEHIND ''GOMOHANE'' by Solomon Aplas.    Esther Vicky Kave or better known as 'Estapacifica' has made a remarkable debut two years ago in the music industry in PNG with her newly released heartfelt songs titled: "Gomohane" and "Mangi West Papua", which have captivated the hearts of many Papua New Guineans, nationwide. 42% WAGE AND SALARY TAX IS SILENTLY KILLING WORKING CLASS PEOPLE OF PAPUA NEW GUINEA

Image
To: PRIME MINISTER JAMES MARAPE We suffer in silence because we need to work and provide for our family and for survival. A lot of working class are struggling and yet the government doesn't care about it. Yes we do understand, government needs money to run the country and tax is one major revenue that funds the annual budgets. Poverty level is very high, beggars every where on the streets, high level of law and order problems, corruption, and the lists goes on and on. 47 years of political independence but we are still struggling financially. Can the government look at other sources of generating revenue and reduce the Salary and Wage Tax from 42% to at least 30% maximum. This will relieve majority of the working population. Meaning people will have at least enough money in their pockets. by: Jeremy Rainald  - Human Resources Manager at Petroleum Industry. Dear Prime Minister, Hon. James Marape, On behalf of all the working class Papua New Guineans, can you consider reducing the

PNG’s minimum wage

Image
PNG's minimum wage by   Stephen Howes ,  Kingtau Mambon  and  Kelly Samof September 28, 2022 The urban minimum wage has been an important part of Papua New Guinea's economic history. In the last few years before independence (in 1975), it was greatly increased. In the decade or so after independence, it was widely regarded as too high. In 1992, it was slashed, merged with the rural minimum, and hardly increased again for more than a decade. We can compare the minimum wage in PNG today with other Asia and Pacific developing countries using International Labour Organization (ILO) data.  As Figure 1 shows, PNG's minimum wage is 18% below the average of the 19 countries shown if the market exchange rate is used to compare minimum wages.  It is 37% below the average if differences in cost of living are also taken into account (with conversions made on the basis not of market exchange rates but so-called purchasing power parities or PPPs).  The greater difference in terms of PPPs
