Governor Allan Bird Demands Marape's Removal Allan Bird, the governor of East Sepik, is speaking out against how Papua New Guinea (PNG) is being run. He's not happy with Prime Minister James Marape and wants things to change. Allan Bird is becoming a big voice in the opposition party. He's known for being honest and talking about the problems people care about, like bad government and lack of honesty. He says people are tired of the government's decisions. One of the things Allan Bird is criticizing is the Connect PNG program. This program is supposed to improve roads and other infrastructure across the country. TERMS AND CONDITIONS


  1. Duration of competition : 01 June – 28 June 2023
  2. Deadline of submission : 12:00 pm 28th June 2023  (PNG time)
  3. All essays Must be Typed and submitted via email (only) to bsplifemarketing@bsp.com.pg
  4. Number of Words : 500 Words or less (Category 1) & 1,000 words or less (Category 2)
  5. Font Arial  Font size 11
  6. Each participant can only submit one entry per category. Multiple submissions may lead to disqualification.
  7. If a Participant uses any citations from secondary sources, this must be fully referenced according to a single consistent format. Preferably APA standard.
  8. Category 1, Each Participant must provide:
    1. A copy of a valid Student ID. If unavailable, a formal confirmation letter from Participants school is required and;
    2. Contact details (Phone number) during the time of submission;
  9. Category 2, Each Participant must provide:
    1. A copy of a valid ID and;
    2. Contact details (Phone number) during the time of submission;
  10. If a winner does not have a personal BSP bank account, then payment can be made to other nominated BSP Bank account or BSP Life, through a BSP Branch, will assist the winner to open a BSP account.
  11. BSP Group staff, contracted agents and their immediate family members are excluded to part take in this competition.
  12. Cash prizes
  13. Shall be paid directly to the Winners’ nominated BSP bank account.
  14. Winners cannot exchange prizes for any other item.
    • If winners are not contactable in 2 business days then the prize will be forfeited and a new winner(s) will be selected.

MEDIA STATEMENT BY HON. JAMES NOMANE.  Appeal to MPs to Put the Country First (Monday 7 April 2025) Is Papua New Guinea better off since Honourable James Marape became Prime Minister in 2019? This is the key question that all MPs must ask themselves before the upcoming Vote of No Confidence (VONC) in April. All MPs must put the country first and not limit their focus to districts and provinces.  From 2019 to 2025 the cumulative budget total of the Marape government has been K156.8 billion, comprised of K39.9 billion (25%) debt financing and K116.9 billion (75%) tax revenue. This K39.9 billion debt is the highest incurred by any government since Independence and by the end of 2025 our national debt will reach K65.0 billion.
