Toyota’s CEO resigned saying he is too old to lead the Toyota.
Akio Toyoda, the CEO of Toyota, announced his resignation from the company. Despite successfully reinventing the brand to appeal to younger consumers, Toyoda believes that, at 66, he is too old to understand the consumer sentiments of the current generation.
In his 14 years as CEO, he took the company from a cautious, conservative one to a bold, adventurous, and trendy brand. His love for racing resurrected the Toyota Supra, and he approved the project that resulted in the GR Yaris.
Toyoda's replacement is Koji Sato, former president of Lexus and one of Lexus's top engineers/innovators. According to Toyoda, Sato is a man who has mastered Toyota's philosophy, techniques, and manners in the field of car manufacturing, and he is young and loves cars.
Toyota engineers insist on high-quality materials and precision engineering, which ensure that every component works together seamlessly, maximizing performance and durability.
Companies along with the leaders live by their principles.
