PROJECT COORDINATOR

World Vision Papua New Guinea (WVPNG) has exciting opportunity for those of you who want a change and want to become part of a dynamic team. We are currently looking for suitable, qualified, experienced, and highly motivated professional to fill the Project Coordinator role with the Rispectim Yuyet Rispectim Narapla na Sanap Wantaim Project to be based in Lae, Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea.


PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

This position is to provide overall on- the ground coordinator and management of an EU funded project to increased participation of youth in the prevention, management and resolution of conflict and violence within their personal relationships and peer networks, broader community and society as a whole. This will be done through three interdependent outputs: 1) In-school youth (12-18 years) are trained and support to manage and resolve conflict within their personal relationships and peer networks to prevent it escalating into violence and abuse, 2.) Out-of- school youth (14-25 years) are trained and supported to model active citizenship and implement peacebuilding initiatives strengthening a culture of peace in their communities, and 3). Out-of-School youth (14-25 years) are trained and supported to engage in livelihood activities.


MAJOR ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

i) Project management including M&E

Supervise ongoing project through maintaining of an updated Plan of Action to ensure that activities are carried out as per the approved operational guidelines

Maintain quality through compliance with organization policy and grant agreement

Coordinate and consult Technical Experts to ensure the smooth running of the project.

Monitor and provide financial report variance explanations on a monthly basis

Oversee the set-up and ongoing management of the project M&E framework

ii) Representation & Net working

Represent WV at donor meetings/joint agency assessments or studies, Task force

Develop and maintain links with other relevant partners and Local Level authorities

Develop and maintain donor relationship for adequate funding needs

Host effective donor and internal monitoring visits

iii) High Quality of Documentation


Ensure reports are submitted in a timely manner meeting reporting requirement

Mange the coordination of project evaluations

Present Regular progress reports at appropriate meeting’s

Submit monthly reports

Maintain a physical file of all activities as per the project Logframe.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION/SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Minimum of tertiary degree in a social science field and/or project management

At least 2-4 years’ in community development or in a relief setting and experience in managing 2 or more staff in a team setting.

Experience working in the Highlands region of PNG

Experience in project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and report writing.

Good interpersonal skills and cross-cultural sensitivity.

Effective in written and oral communication; able to speak and write with a high standard of English.

Ability to be proactive and work under minimal supervision of extended period

Computer literate
