Governor Allan Bird Demands Marape's Removal Allan Bird, the governor of East Sepik, is speaking out against how Papua New Guinea (PNG) is being run. He's not happy with Prime Minister James Marape and wants things to change. Allan Bird is becoming a big voice in the opposition party. He's known for being honest and talking about the problems people care about, like bad government and lack of honesty. He says people are tired of the government's decisions. One of the things Allan Bird is criticizing is the Connect PNG program. This program is supposed to improve roads and other infrastructure across the country. But Allan Bird says the money isn't being used properly. He wants to know where the money is going and if it's really helping people. This raises questions about whether the government is being honest about how it spends money. PM MARAPE: DISTRICTS TO FOCUS ON PROPER PLANNING TO BUILD ECONOMIC ROADS

“Your justifications can clearly win the heart of National Planning if you clearly indicate that your road in your district leads to a coffee, cocoa, copra, vanilla or any other cash crop, because we want those roads to be economic roads and not only social roads.” - PM Marape.

PM Marape Encourages Districts To Win  Hearts With Their Submissions

Prime Minister James Marape is encouraging the districts to come up with proper planning aligning their roads with agricultural plans.

PM Marape made mention of this while responding to a question raised by Nawaeb MP Theo Pelgen in Parliament yesterday.

He says if districts can come up with attractive submissions of their roads with agricultural locations, the Department of National Planning will be convinced to help support these districts connecting their roads with their respective agricultural locations.

He says this is important because all districts, provincial government must work hand in hand with the national government departments to help develop the rural areas that have potential to supply fresh organic produce.

“To all districts, if you have a strategy and you feel that you are not receiving that level of support, it is in your interest to liaise with the National Planning and do a submission,” PM Marape said.

“We will do our best within the size of the budget so we can give the best we can so these roads assist us in bringing our fresh produce to the markets.”

“Our critical focus on roads, cash crops and other infrastructures here is to ensure we ramp up our domestic productivity.”

“Your justifications can clearly win the heart of National Planning if you clearly indicate that your road in your district leads to a coffee, cocoa, copra, vanilla or any other cash crop, because we want those roads to be economic roads and not only social roads.”
